Welcome

Welcome to the Advocacy Center at Syracuse University. The Advocacy Center is committed to providing support and assistance to all Syracuse University and SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) students who are impacted by sexual and relationship violence. If you or someone you know have experienced any form of interpersonal violence, such as nonconsensual touching, rape, sexual abuse, voyeurism, sexual harassment, cyberstalking, stalking or relationship abuse, or have had an encounter that made you uncomfortable, the Advocacy Center is here to provide information, support and assistance. The Advocacy Center provides a confidential, safe space for survivors, friends and family members, as well as other members of the University community, to seek assistance related to sexual and relationship violence.

The Advocacy Center recognizes that sexual and relationship violence affect every member of our community, and that each one of us can be a part of creating a safe, caring community. To this end, the Advocacy Center brings together students, staff and faculty who are committed to working to end interpersonal violence and promotes open discussion about this complex issue, including the intersections of all types of oppression. Syracuse University staff and faculty have an opportunity to be part of the work of the center as volunteer advocates and through collaboration with center programs. Students can find a variety of ways to be involved with the Advocacy Center prevention, education and outreach efforts, and through their involvement, learn about themselves, examine their beliefs and attitudes, have a positive impact on their community, connect with others who are committed to working to prevent violence, and for some, find a place to heal.

We are here for you.
